Really Need To Know, Is There Any Way Possible To Play PS3 on the new iMac?!
Maybe an adapter that makes HDMI work through thunderbolt? :S

Currently there are no such adaptors.

Pretty sure you could do it through the Hauppauge PVR, but only 720p and prob $250 for the kit.

You could use a Slingbox, as long as you're happy with a display around a second out of sync. Would be fine for viewing a BluRay, but I can imagine gaming would be frustrating!

Black Magic Design is making a thunderbolt video deck with HDMI input, unfortunately it's a product for video professionals and is going to cost $995
It also has component/composite and dual HDSDI in/dual out for 3D production, so it's not just an expensive HDMI adapter or anything, plus it is accessed in the OS through video programs, not input as a video signal for target display mode.

Matrox announced at NAB that they will be making their matrox mini HDMI capture box(and other products) for thunderbolt Macs, I believe the current non -TB versions go for $350-400.

I hope kanex and others will make hdmi to thunderbolt converters soon .. otherwise i might just get a mac mini when its updated .. i want my mac xbox 360 and satellite tv on one screen .... if the imac can't do it ... mac mini with a hdtv it is

Or get the 2010 imac.

I bought mine 6 months ago and am getting a converter for PS3 next week.

Prob be able to get a deal now with the new version released

Does this still work. I thought Apple said the Thunderbolt port will accept mini DisplayPort connectors.

This may work: Belkin AV360 HDMI-to-Mini DisplayPort Converter
You might want to ask someone at Apple if this works.

Here is the link. Again, if it does work it will only do 720P.

Here is something else that might work.
Kanex XD - HDMI to Apple iMac 27-inch and Cinema Display 27-inch

Here is that link:
