I just got my first mac a couple months ago, so I'm not familiar at all with upgrades. My question is - Will Leopard be a free download or will I have to buy it?

Hey, those little coupons that come with ur Mac (if it was new or rerfurbished) There should be four of them, take them into the Apple store, and when you get the new OS, show them the coupons, they'll take one from you, and you will get the new OS at a lower price.

I will have to wait to see the final release of Leopard before I decide whether to shell out $129 or just stick with Tiger. That's almost 1/5 of what my mini cost. If I upgrade a few times, it's going to catch up with the price of my computer.
Edit: But don't most major updates increase in speed? If so, that would be like getting a new computer once a year for $129. That's not bad.

If you are a student you will get it for cheaper.
