So I bought the macpro when it was first announced and I can't believe i haven't discovered this yet (i actually feel stupid)

I went out and bought a headset and mic, $50 nothing special just a mic and head phone combo.. So, i go to connect the mic and . . . I can't find the mic jack.. am i going crazy or is there no mic jack.. I'm looking for the small hole one (ie. headphone jack) .. I think i'm going crazy..

Please help :)

There's only a headphones jack on the front, but optical audio in and out and line in and out on the back (see http://www.apple.com/macpro/specs.html; the picture on the top right is the back panel).

cheers.

To use a mic with it you either need to buy something like the griffin imic. Or some type of hardware to provide power to the mic.

Mac Pro has line in on the back next to line out, but it's not a "mic" jack.

correct (sorry i wasn't more explicit up front). one would assume that a usb headset would be easiest.

cheers.

Does anyone know if you can pair a bluetooth headset with the MP and use it as headphone/mic?

Sweet!

i should have asked this originally, but... can you do itunes/music/OS sounds through it?

You just select it as the output device and it will play everything out to the headphones.

WARNING: BT headphones sound awful even with A2DP. It is not worth it at all, in my opinion.
