I was wondering if people here are using this set up with Activator and if it's really saving some battery life on your iPhone;

- Activator ->Lockscreen ->Joined wifi -> Cellular data Off
- Activator ->Lockscreen ->Left wifi -> Cellular data ON

Waiting for your feedback. Thanks!

Yeah I know. :)

Asator, I really would like to have your feedback/experience in battery life with these 2 set ups mentioned above, in let's say 2 days from now...Would you mind to share this with me/us this weekend?

thanks in advance! :)

Ahh that's pretty cool, I didn't know the specifics but that sounds a lot like it takes more electricity to turn a light on that leaving it on in some cases. I'll give it a shot.
Also took me a sec to realize that was a link lol.

Also one more question, shutting off cellular shuts off phone calls to right? Or am I confused. Also is it worth telling it to turn off LTE when you connect to wifi or is that a bigger drain overall?

nope, you'll still receive phone calls.

oh sweet, most people I know have iMessage so that's not a huge worry. Does it really help?

As you can read in my opening post, I am not using this atm. Waiting for feedback about these actions (and battery performance) from other users.

At least one person who replied me in this thread is using this, so waiting for his/her feedback in a few days after using it

I do this, but I use Smart3G+LTE to do it, not Activator. I've only recently learned I can assign multiple actions to Activator despite having used it for many years.

However, despite being told several times in the last few days that I can do this with Activator I am sticking with Smart3G+LTE. The advantage to this tweak is that it can keep certain apps I want open (like Pandora or Google Play) while the phone is sleeping.

I have a 5S on verizon LTE, could this tweak help me out? Tell me how it works.

First off, let me reiterate that I am on iOS 6.1 and I have seen no updates for this tweak for iOS 7. So, it may work, it may not.

All it does is switch the cellular radio off and the WiFi radio on when in range of WiFi that you have credentials for. When you leave WiFi it switches WiFi off and switches 3G on. If you have your LTE switch set to be on when you have cellular enabled then the tweak will remember that and switch LTE back on too. Or off, if you leave WiFi.

The tweak is smart. So, if you are on WiFi and you want to use cellular and you shut off WiFi then the tweak will switch your cellular radios back on. Turn WiFi back on and the tweak will shut the cellular radios back off again. And vice versa if you're using cellular and want to then use WiFi.

When you lock your phone, after a delay (in seconds) that you set the tweak will switch your phone down to 2G or EDGE (or 1xRTT). This way your LTE and 3G radios don't get hammered.

It's when the radios work extra hard that the battery gets drained faster.

But you can also set app exceptions for the tweak. If say, like Bumps you stream internet radio on the subway you can tell Smart3G to leave 3G on when your phone is locked and not to close the streaming app you are using so that you can continue to use it while your phone is locked. I have Pandora, Google Play and a few other streaming apps added as exceptions.

It's made a difference for me. And the best thing is that I never had to think about it. The only downside I have discovered to it is that when using WiFi, because cellular is off you miss voicemail. You still get SMS/MMS/iMessage and calls come through, but VM for some reason is disconnected. This means once you leave WiFi and cellular kicks in, if anyone left VM you're going to be notified then.

So, sometimes if I get a call I don't recognize I will switch WiFi off to see if they caller leaves a VM.

That's the only hitch it has. OH! I should mention, it also has schedules. So, if you want it to only work during such and such hours you can set it that way.

Sorry but I decided to uninstall SmartClose. The bug when locking the device was REALLY annoying me.

When you set SmartClose to activate when locking the device it lights up the lockscreen instead of turning off.

This is how I set this tweak up when it first came out earlier this week or last. To mitigate this annoyance, I read on Reddit to also enable "simulate power button press" as well as "do nothing". Now the lockscreen doesn't turn back on when activating the action.

I tried this but my phone goes into safe mode when I lock it. I must have conflicting tweaks or something. Thanks for the help though.

An easy fix for this is to use one of the lock animations in springtomize and it won't happen.

Thank you for sharing this. I started crashing like crazy with my previous setup. Saw this post, changed my lock animation to blur, and haven't crashed since!

Thanks!
