Can you tell us which Mac you have?
What device are you using to move the pointer (built-in trackpad, mouse, magic trackpad, something else?)
If a mouse, what brand?
Wireless, or USB wired?

How long have you been using Yosemite?

Mac mini 2014, Logitech M510 connected to it via the Apple wired keyboard. I've been using Yosemite since I got my mini on October 23rd.

Also affected my Magic Trackpad.

Don't know...
You may have had a temporary system slowdown with a new system - maybe the Spotlight database was still in progress, and now it's worked past that.
If it does happen again, launch your Activity Monitor - won't hurt anything to just leave that running. Look for some app or process that is taking lots of processor (CPU), or using a lot of RAM.
Make sure that Activity Monitor is set to show All Processes, and not just My Processes - so it shows everything.

Just curious - what are you using for a monitor with your mini?
