Target this week is offering (on AT&T) a
iPhone 8 at $299 ($10/mo)
iPhone 8+ at $399 ($15/mo)
iPhone X at $599. ($20/mo)

(I’m just showing 64gb now. It also adjusts for 256 gb)

And unsure if it’s stackable, but there is also a BOGO if you upgrade and start a new line of service.

I’m really tempted.

I have a 7plus... perfect condition

My husband has a 7 (crack on the home button, so he uses an “accessibility” virtual home button on his screen). It’s serviceable because he got used to it.

My 16yr old has a hand me down 6. Shattered screen and slow from previous water damage.

Options are...
1. let the 16 yr old buy a $299 iPhone 8, which means husband and I keep our iPhone 7 & 7 Plus (teen gets a new phone but pays for it herself)

2. Or See if husband and I can BOGO for the 8 plus ($399) and iPhone X ($599). (My husband wants the plus Im tempted to get the X). Give my 7+ to the teen. So my husband and I get new phones, but teen gets a free hand me down but has to change her number (new line of service is required to BOGO)

I know new phones come out in 3 months. I’m the only one in the family with a perfect phone 7+.

But I’m the one tempted with the upgrade possibilities. Is it really possible to get a new 8+ for $398 or X for $599 in 3 months?

What would you do?

Sell iPhone 7+ for 450

Sell 6 for 100

Sell 7 for 250

That’s 800

But 8+ for yourself. Get a 8 free. Give number to daughter.

Buy 8 for daughter, don’t ask her to pay.

3 new phones are 700. Save the USD 100. Or you can put 100 from your side along with this 100 and upgrade to the X.

Here is another option
3. You could do the BOGO and let your teen buy her own as well that way it frees up your 7 and 7+ phones to be sold to help offset costs.
[doublepost=1529878954][/doublepost]4. You and your teen could split the costs of the BOGO and give your 7+ to your husband

As long as you are happy with ur AT&T plan(s), do math on your monthly x however contract term and if u can live with that, go for it. Kids' phones probly need insurance too.

Where are you seeing these prices? I’m seeing $599.99 for both the 8 and 8+ with a new or upgraded financed phone, and 799.99 for the X - both on target.com. I’m definitely not seeing 299.99 for the 8.

I believe the original poster may be stacking two deals. If you look on the iPhone 8 64GB page, you're shown two offers: a BOGO with either a new line or a DirectTV account and the $200 off with the new line or upgrade offer. Two 64GB Iphone 8's would be $300 ($700 with BOGO and then $200 off each with new line or upgrade).

I'm actually looking to upgrade my dad and brother's phones (they have crappy old HTC Desires) and was looking to keep the cost as low as possible for both of them. Since they want to keep their existing lines, I'd have to do the upgrade offer (which requires a subscription to DirectTV apparently). If both offers stack, I'd strongly consider it.

It was showing that way on Sunday. I wish I screenshot it (and possibly did it). By Monday it was showing $799 for the X.

Just took advantage of the promo through Target and AT&T this afternoon and picked up a new Silver 256GB X.

$200 off with a financed (AT&T NEXT) new line or upgrade. So in other words they are offering a new iPhone X at either $799 (64GB, $50 more than a base iPhone 8) or $949 (256GB, $50 less than a base X) if you buy the phone with their NEXT program. 0% financing with the option of paying off the balance entirely at any time. Factor in a few hundred dollars from selling an old device and the cost comes down even more.

I only wish I'd seen this on Sunday, when the offer was $599/$749 for the X models....I'm wondering if that was an error in the promotion however.

The only downside is that is appears AT&T requires you to subscribe to one of their current Mobile Share plans (the promo does not appear to allow you to keep an older grandfathered plan), but if this is not an issue for you (e.g you were thinking of changing plans, or you already have one of the current plans) then again it's not a bad deal.
