I've forked out for a family pack.

The service just keeps on letting me down.

1. No push to desktop
2. Emails removed on iPhone don't remove from me.com
3. Subscribed calendars no longer sync - where the hell are my birthdays?
4. Intermittent pushing.
5. Me.com has limited email creation that even free email services have (formatting/rich text).
6. File sharing has been pulled from me.com

Does anyone feel like they deserve a discount/refund?

1. I get Push TO desktop, but not FROM desktop...
2. I don't have an iPhone, but have noticed when I put an email into a folder with Mail.app the web interface needs a bit of prodding before it'll notice the change.
3. Cog icon > Show Birthdays calendar :) Can't get it to show any other subscriptions mind
4. See 1
5. Just noticed that... pretty piss poor.
6. Yeah, another omission!

Well i've had .Mac for a while and wondering since it's technically been switched to an entirely different service if everyone is now in their 30 day period to cancel...

Why didn't you just get a trial and play around with it before paying your money?! As in the paragraph above you can cancel with a refund within 30 days of buying it.

Because I didn't know Apple had some little white lies up its sleeve!

Well.. I for one think that overall people on the boards are overacting a bit calling Apple liars and whatnot. These issues are probably just setting issues because I have found that all the things you listed as not being there- actually are. If you can't figure it out- call apple support. Do something other than complaining.
THe only valid point you made is the birthday and the subscription calendars but I would bet that is fixed in an update.

I don't know where he's from, but in Europe there's no phone support for mobileme.
Also, for me anyway, emailing support via the support website doesn't work. (I don't get a confirmation email like I should, and noone answers my emails)

Yeah, Apple support at the moment is useless. They either don't get back to you or if they do contact you they give you the run around or start troubleshooting someone else's problem (or if they're nice they just tell you that the system is screwed up and they can't help you until they get all this fixed).

I'm not really disappointed with the transition, but I am disappointed with the customer service. It is extremely poor.

I'm just baffled by the lack of response from Apple. Can you imagine those not so technically inclined, who go to the MobileMe site thinking they're getting this great service... and it doesn't work! I really feel for those people.

At least the folks here are being informed through each others experiences, but most don't want to even deal with a forum.

a 4 day old transition. a worldwide phone launch. some problems.

I guess the sky is falling.

The Russians, no wait, the Koreans are attacking.

Sounds like Chicken Little to me.

This is the exact attitude not to have. Maybe explaining how complex transitions like this are hard and often result in downtime. Nah, that would be too logical. Lets make fun of people instead!

I guess I'm taking more of a laid back approach than I was yesterday. Yesterday I couldn't get my iPhone and .Me calendars to sync plus I was having the email delete problem. Today, I've switched to manual sync instead of push on my iPhone and calendar seems to be syncing okay. I still have the delete problem. But that just means after deleting emails on the iPhone, I have to do it a second time on .Me (at least delete the first message and then the rest disappear). IMO - .Me just wasn't ready for prime time, but they had a deadline facing them with the iPhone 3G, so they had to go ahead and release it. Hopefully, as time goes by things will improve. I'm going to keep using .Me right up to the end of my trial and then make a decision then whether it is worth paying for. I guess that's what trials are for. It is nice to have my iPhone calendar and contacts synced with my PC without having to manuall do it. I'm not sure that's worth $99/year though.

AND they pulled the search feature from their discussion forums on the Apple support site. Perfect.

I've developed this thing called patience since my new house was almost 8 months late.

With all its problems, MobileMe is better than how I was doing it last Thursday and I know Apple will get it together soon. Might have made it easier had they pulled it offline rather than trying to fix it while hundreds of thousands keep bombing their servers.

I'm not ready to burn them for it........yet.

BUT, part of the problem in just blindly accepting it (and I'm not saying this directly to you but to others I've read in other posts) is that we convey to Apple that it is ok to do whatever they please to us and we'll gladly take it. We'll gladly just give them our money and let them deliver (based on faith) at a later time when they are ready. I think this is the reason Mac fans get such a bad rep.

Right, I'm sure they're all out golfing and having office parties at wet n' wild rather than working night and day to resolve issues. Remember MobileMe was announced with a mid-July launch date. You don't think they rushed it out the door prematurely to coincide with the 3G and 2.0 software launches. The downside of that is the problems and the bad taste people get.

That is good news, but it won't be good enough until there is universal push functionality.

Part of what annoyed people (and it took a long time for me to get really irritated) was that there was simply no feedback from Apple on what was a disastrous launch. Many of us set aside time to change over to MobileMe, and then had to wait and wait with no info on what was happening. That's not good enough.

There still isn't enough feedback. Apple cannot try such an ambitious launch again.

If you read the status page you'll notice that they did this to prevent their forums from imploding. Would you prefer it they didn't have the support boards up at all?

It's not okay. I thought it was going to be a fantastic service. Just because it's new, it doesn't warrant the problems that have arisen.

I have emailed many times but have received no response.

Put it this way, I just missed my niece's birthday because my Birthdays calendar wasn't synced. Hold the jokes about being a **** uncle. This is a serious balls up with MobileMe.

It doesn't matter, they just delete your posts that make them look bad. Good luck finding problems. I had 2 threads deleted over there yesterday.
