I'm trying to empty my trash but it's stuck on one video. I've cleared the rest by making it skip this file, but now it won't go away. When I use empty trash, it says the file is in use. Using 'lsof' in the terminal shows that only finder is using the file. Trying to use "securely empty trash" results in it just hanging on the file and the progress bar not moving.
I've used alt+"delete" to try and force the delete on both of the above options and resulted in the same problems.
Now the weird parts. when pressing space and opening up the quick preview panel, the place where it shows the file size keeps changing between "Calculating size..." and "7.04GB". The last modified space adds one second each time it flashes (so it's checking the file size each second). I can still move the file out of the trash, and the same thing keeps on happening (it keeps checking the file size)
I just changed my directory structure around and I think I may of accidentally corrupted this file somehow. Since I changed up how my hard drive partitioning, spotlight is trying to index my computer again. It's stuck on "Estimating index time.." and I think it's stuck on this file. When I reboot my computer, the checking of the file size stops, but when I try to delete the file, it starts again.
How can I force this file to be deleted and get back 1.5% of my disk? It's not a lot of space, but to lose it permanently seems like a waste I'd also like my computer to be able to complete the index as well...
