Hello everyone. My name is Chris by the way. Well I recently bought an 8GB iPhone. I already know a lot about the iPhone and a lot about the iPod Touch.(I don't own an iPod Touch, but I have jailbreaked my cousins a lot of times.) Well now I'm scared to jailbreak my iPhone. Since it's a phone, I don't want anything to happen to it. I recently downloaded ZiPhone, wanting to jailbreak it, but I've been scared to. Should I really fear it? Is it worth jailbreaking? I kinda want to do it, but am I doing it right? Will my iPhone "brick"?
Please I need to know what are the consequences of jailbreaking an iPhone. I'm not sure if it's the same as jailbreaking an iPod Touch. I've only jailbreaked an iPod Touch with iPhuc and never with ZiPhone. Is ZiPhone the way to go too?

Thanks

-Chris

If you bought your iPhone new with v.1.1.2, 1.1.3, or 1.1.4, i can assure you nothing will go wrong* if you have the latest version of ziphone. If you upgraded from 1.1.1 or earlier to 1.1.2 or later, Im not guarantying anything.

*-DISCLAIMER: There are always possibilities of freak accidents like your laptop battery dying leaving the phone hanging, a 25-car pile-up on the Eisenhower Expressway in the middle of the night, or a 35-year-old businessman peeing his pants while hosting a large-scale meeting. Therefore, nothing is fully guaranteed. (Sorry, im sooooo bored)

Lol, you forgot the airplane hitting local power station leaving the house out of power while ZiPhone is running; hence, interrupting ZiPhone and leaving your iPhone as a permanent brick.

-or-

A black hole being started by your iPhone because ZiPhone screwed something up and created a black hole that consumes everything in its path including Earth as a whole.

and yes... it really is worth jailbreaking. even if you're having problems with it, a restore will take it back to its factory settings and you'll be fine (barring any of the freak accidents that are already posted).

i own 2 iphones, an 8gb & 16gb model, last night i had to learn very quickly about unlocking, jailbreaking and activating as i had stuffed up a firmware upgrade from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 to 1.1.3, this was on my 8gb one.

i had successfully upgraded the firmware to 1.1.2 and thought sweet.. lets try and get it to 1.1.3. This was the method using the 'official 1.1.3 upgrader' in the installer. You have to download over wi-fi the 165mb 1.1.3 firmware file. when all was done it didnt work, so i had to restore it back to 1.1.1 and then go through the task of activating, jailbreaking etc

im sort of glad it happened because now im confident in unlocking and jailbreaking the iphone, im not a geek or anything like that but as long as the instructions are clear then you shouldnt have any problems at all.

give it a go if your confident enough, if someone like me has done it without bricking it then im sure you will be alright.

All I can say is wow! ZiPhone blew me away! I decided to jailbreak my iPhone and it did it so fast! Thanks for all your help!!
