Own Sony WF-1000XM3s, bunch of clone earbuds, a Monster Crusher ANC2(?) and a Bose quietComfort warbuds (dunno what version, purchased about 3ish years ago).. I now wear my AP2s to bed all the time. First time wearing them to bed I thought I was having a stroke; the noise of the overhead ceiling fan just….vanished. Completely. One earbud (the side that I sleep on) always falls out after I’m asleep.

And they are also the only warbuds that stay in place during normal use (when I’m not lying horizontally). The most comfortable ones that don’t make me physically aware that they are there and this not discomfortanle to wear for 4+ hours.

Only thing I’d like to have is the ability to wirelessly charge while I’m wearing them using some magical Apple tech. my other earbuds sit unused and i find I don’t like on or over ear cans i. Comparison to the AP2.

Do you get any ear fatigue after working them for several hours? Which Size ear tip are you using?

The longest I’ve worn them for was 3.5 hours during dialysis. I use them to effectively drown out what I consider background noise (private staff conversations, constant alarm monitors from other patient’s status stations, etc) and to be able to play Civ VI without distractions and either Netflix, Tubi or Apple Music b/c, free high speed. no, no fatigue at that point.

Sony WF1000XMx’s hurt after 10 minutes no matter the ear tip piece. even Bose Quietcomfort overears feel ‘oppressively’ heavy. Medium tip right ear, Small tip left ear. Both silicone. Also have but not tried some XS silicone tips and some emory foams XS > L. Listening to some spatial music/classical felt unreal and that was my ‘I’m really not feeling these’ moment.

I often take them to sporting events or other overly loud areas just to cut the noise down. The Max are still a bit better (to be expected given that they’re over the ear) but the Pro 2s were really a huge jump over the first gen.

Yeah, I actually use my Airpod Pro 2s a lot more than my AirPods Max because they are so convenient to carry with me.
Convenience is sure important, no doubt, but in your experience, do they outperform the APM in Noise Cancelling? I own Bose headphones now (6-7 years old) and they work fine, but not during take off. The driver seems to work so hard to cancel the engine noise that it distorts bringing on a whole new set of issues. TIA for your perspective.
