Rear camera and flashlight 6S isn't working (black) after updating to 10.3.1. Tried force quit app and restart phone.

Anyone else having same issue?

Is your phone hot by chance?

A little but I've seen warmer. When I'm in video mode.... there's a warning triangle on top right corner saying flash disable and the iPhone needs to cool down before using it. Note that the phone is definitely not hot when I'm typing this.

I'm thinking the heat has something to do with this. I know that the flashlight gets disabled when your phone is hot, along with the flash. But you are also experiencing a black screen when trying to use the rear camera. Is this constant? Still can't use the rear camera at all?

Have you tried a hard reset? Hold the power (sleep/wake) button and home button down simultaneously for 10 seconds until you see the :apple: logo. Lemme know.

How much Storage/iCloud RAM left over on your iPhone?

Around 3 gb left in icloud and more than 50gb internal storage. Mine isn't JB hence I can't tell the RAM.

Yup, tried that as well as for force quit the app. Tried other app that uses back camera and result is the same. I've booked an appointment with apple the coming afternoon. I hope it's software issue. Can't afford to pay more money to get this fix.

Honestly, sounds like something is wrong with the phone's hardware. You say you just got it off craigslist. I would be returning to seller if possible. I think the software update was coincidental. I used to see this kinda thing in the past with faulty camera modules.

*facepalm*

That guy probably won't even answer me call now. The fact that I took some pictures/videos right after I bought seems weird.

Does camera modules includes the flash? Why would it say it's disable and phone needs to cool down before using it when it's not hot at all?

*Update*

Apple would replace the camera for $64 however; they said that the LED light is non-replaceable. The genius suggested me to go to other shop for this since it's already out of warranty.

Went to a phone repair shop and done it for $45 for the camera. The LED magically worked too. They were willing to change the LED at cost too. Why wouldn't Apple do it?!?

So my dilemma is to whether sell this and get another one? Scaring that it will break again!

Yes you can sell it, but be honest about this issues you've encountered and got it fixed!

Cheers
