Yup, despite it being my 3rd time I've opened my Mini (2012 refurbished QC), having the iFixit page up, and being careful, I popped the IR sensor clip off the logic board. 
Worst part is I only had to go back in to take out my 2 month old Crucial M550 SSD to send it back (it was potentially causing hangs and was "failing" per the Genius bar due to reallocated sector counts). Ugh!
I don't use the remote control and can live without the power light but I thought I'd get any updates from anyone who has had success on reattaching the clip somehow or how much it costs to get it fixed. Seems like it should be able to be reattached fairly easily but I really don't know. I found the old link here but wasn't much help. Seems like it wasn't held on there with anything special (i.e. solder, glue, etc.).
