Rebates Confusion: Help!

Ok. Could someone give me a step by step instructions for submiting a rebate.
I have had really bad luck with rebates before (not with apple) and I just dont want to mess anything up.

I want to aquire the rebate for Printer and Ipod Video, from my Macbook Pro.

Some quesitons:
Do I send the rebates in seperatly?
It states on the website you have to cut out the serial info, unless you are applying for 2 rebates you can just copy it?
And I'm probally going to sell the iPod... but I wont be able to sell it as never been open if I have to cut the serial out of the box. Is there anyway around this?

I can't give you step-by-steps right now, but you will need to make copies of everything you send to keep for your own records.

You'll need to send 2 separate refunds to 2 separate addresses. I sent the completed paperwork, receipts and the original upcs for the MBP and the iPod for the iPod rebate. I sent the completed paperwork, receipts, the original upc for my printer and a copy of the MBP upc with a note that the original was sent to the iPod rebate.

The online instructions are detailed and I would highly recommend calling Apple if you have specific questions on what to send.

Apple still lost some of my info, even though I know it was in the envelopes, so I cannot stress enough to make copies of every single thing you send. Good luck!

They are very very specific about the rebate stuff. They lost some of my stuff, and I have spend a month straightening it out. I had to get ahold of corporate relations to cut the red tape and get them to start to issue my rebate.

You have to send what they want, including the UPC codes (all layers of the cardboard box must be included.) If the UPC is lost, they have a form, but it will be a big delay in getting the rebate, you really don't want to have to deal with it if you can help it.

I'm sure you can still sell the iPod without the UPC code. You should mention on eBay that it's missing though, and you might not be able to get QUITE as much, but you could also possibly get just as much as you would otherwise. Some people care about a brand new item in a brand new box with the plastic on it, some people just want what's inside.

I sold the iPod nano I got with my Macbook Pro purchase for $150. I just cut out the UPC code before I gave it to him he didnt mind he knew thats why I was able to sell it to him under the market value. Just find a friend and make him a good offer if you are trying to sell your iPod.

i think its kinda rediculous how apple does this. they need to figure out a new and more effecient/easier way to do this all online without sending anything.

Someone above mentioned sending all layers of the cardboard. I just sent the superficial one. Are they really going to make a fuss over that? Did it say somewhere to send the whole thing?

It's my understanding that they WILL NOT take the UPC just ripped off the box..
they need the cardboard with it too.

I don't see Apple or any companies trying to make rebates easier. The whole point of rebates is to drive sales. The less people who submit rebates correctly or at all is a bonus for them.
