Hey guys-

I recently purchased a 12inch powerbook, along with that i purchased a printer and a ipod mini. I am filling out the rebates to get the $100 back on the printer and $179 back on the ipod mini and both of the forms say that you need the original UPC from the powerbooks box. For obviose reasons, i'm sure people can figure out why this is a bit difficult to do? I don't get it than, what do i do?

I came accross the same thing - I bought an iMac G5 along with a printer. Each had a $100 mail-in rebate from Apple, and both rebates wanted the UPC code from the iMac. If I remember correctly, I gave the real iMac UPC into the iMac rebate, and for the printer I gave them the real Printer UPC, and just a copy of the iMac UPC with a note saying where and when I sent it.
At the time I had called the 800 number at the bottom of the form and asked what I should do, if you do the same they will tell you where the real, and where the copies should go.
Remember, with the copied ones make a note of why you sent them just a copy, and tell them where the other can be found (as if they are going to run over and get it).

Alrite cool, i called them but they close early on sat, and i think they did say they are open tommarow, so i will give them a call! I just got worried and thought the store tried to screw me because they made it a point (stated like 3x) in the rebate form not to send any copies or stickers of upc, but only the real one! I will give them a call..guess ill just make everything ready than! :)

The issue is that people have turned in rebates on products that they do not own by taking a copy of the UPC and a copy of a receipt...all which are easily altered in Photoshop. Unfortunately, you may have to cut that precious box of yours. I'd do it for $279.

Apple is really good at Stuff Like this...
It also said "Not available with any other offer" but they didn't seem to mind the 2 rebates I filed.
