Rebel XT Won't start?

Just got my Rebel XT and it doesnt seem to start up. I fully charged the battery. I did NOT put in a CF card though. It's not coming till tomorrow.

Could it be just that there's no CF card or is there a more serious problem?

Should work without a card I believe. Duff battery? Or a DOA...?

Err...I ordered from Amazon so I'd have to go thru the process of shipping back :/ arg.

Hmm..the charger goes on red for a long time eventhough I just took the battery out a couple minutes ago when it was on green. The power shouldn't have depleted already! Bad battery i'm guessing..?
