I’m running a 2010 27”, upgraded with a SSD and more Ram, and the most recent High Sierra beta. For the last several months, a reboot more often than not results in a shutdown and reboot into a black screen with a functional cursor. So I then have to hold down the power button and reboot again. I’d guess 80% of the time, I have to reboot multiple times (like 5 or 6) before I can get it to actually boot to the log-in screen. I’ve heard that the black screen+ cursor is often a sign of an update issue, but I’ve been through several updates this way.
