Okay so I have an iPhone 4 running 5.0.1 and is jailbroken. Basically I need to rebuild the photo library as I messed with it, no idea why . The reason I need to rebuild it is because the current photos are there as thumbnails but when I click on any it brings up a black screen, as if I just took a picture of a black screen. Also when I take pictures or anything they do not update on the photo library.
I have search the web and the closest thing i found was this https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1208654/
I tried what ByronBrewer said:
1> Grab iPhoneExplorer (so you can browse the filesystem)
2> Force quit the Photos & Camera apps (may not be necessary)
3> Browse to the Media folder on the filesystem (via iPhoneExplorer) and drag the contents of DCIM and PhotoData to a folder on your computer to back them up
4> Delete the contents of DCIM
5> Delete the contents of PhotoData
6> Launch Camera app and take a picture
7> Launch Photos app and confirm the Camera Roll is working properly
But no luck, anyone know what to do?
Thanks

Edit: Okay so the problem was after deleting the contents you should reboot the phone, I tried the way Byron said and also tried respringing it and that didn't work. Anyway hope this helps other people if they encounter this problem.
