I'm not computer illiterate lol, and I know everything i need to know about the ram.

I wanted to get 1 4GB stick and 1 2GB stick for a maximum of 6GB of ram. I have a 2008 iMac, so thats all it can take.

I went to OWC but there ram is overpriced, $130 for 2+4gb pack. Can someone recommend me some good ram?

dd2 800 mhz

Thanks!!

Thanks!! I'm going to buy it now, this will improve speed drastically right? I game a lot and do a lot of multitasking and im on 2gb of ram right now. Also, does this void my warranty?

It should improve the performance a lot. Warranty will not be voided.

I have the iMac 8,1 as well. I thought officially it only takes up to 4gb. Will 6gb work? The memory won't be running in dual channel mode, 2x2gb, (or whatever it is called). Does that make a difference?

Thanks

6 will work, and dual channel doesn't really make a whole lot of difference except in benchmarks. Plus it will actually use 4GB in dual-channel, and only 2GB will not be
