Receive SMS through Skype?

I'm seriously considering dropping my AT&T and signing up with [app]Skype[/app]. (I'm always in WiFi and hardly like talking on the phone anyway.) The only thing I can't seem to find out is whether you can receive text messages with a Skype number. Does anyone have experience with this? (I don't know if it makes any difference, but I'm in the US.)

Skype can do SMS but you'd need to check their web site for details. (an obvious first port of call I'd have thought)

I know that it can send SMS, but do you know if it can receive?
