Receiving iMac replacement?

I'm sending out my iMac tomorrow because I had a few problems with it, and was wondering will Apple ship out a new one tomorrow? Since the guy told me they ship it out once they find out it's in Fedex hands. I do really need my iMac. The people that did receive replacements was it really brand new?
