I have an iPhone 3GS that I got on launch day. Recently I've been having some odd battery issues.
About a week ago, my phone was at like 70 percent, and I put it in my pocket. An hour later, I took it out and it wouldn't turn on. Came home, plugged it into my computer, and did a hard reset. It finally came back on, and was at like 38 percent battery. I charged it up and didn't have another problem.
Until Friday. Again, was using it and my battery was at about 70 or 80 percent. I put it in sleep, and like five minutes later turned it on and the battery was at 30 percent. I plugged it in and it seemed to charge back up really quickly. Odd.
Saturday it did it again, only dropping about 15-20 percent this time. But When I plugged it in to charge it, it suddenly jumped back to the original percentage. It did it about three charge cycles in a row, and all I would do is plug it in for a second and the percentage would jump back to where it was before it dropped. Yesterday I let it get down to about 50 percent, and since recharging it overnight, it hasn't dropped again.
I guess my question is, is anyone else having this problem? And what could it be? It doesn't seem as if the battery is actually bad, just seems like it's not reading the percentage correctly. However, three batter meter apps have all read the same percentage when it happens.
If it happens again, I'm going to let it go completely dead, and recharge it, to see if that fixes the issue. Any other suggestions?
