I updated my MacBook Pro 10.6.8 Snow Leopard and all went well. Just one incompatiable app that showed before completing install and its no longer available anyway. There is an update still showing on my APP store icon for iPhoto which is not needed due to me having the new Photos app with this OS. How do I delete this update in the app store so it doesn't keep showing up on my icon. Thanks for any info.

You can go into your Applications folder and delete iPhoto and the next time the MAS checks, it won't see it and won't show you an available update for it.

Thanks for the help, good update working smoothly no issues. Normal customizing but that's it.

I noticed one othe thing since eveything seemed to settle down and work nicely, when starting mac up each time I get the normal grey screen with the logo like before but now it shows a bar that takes a bit in finish filling then it starts up. Is it correct to say this is normal with my current system and the update done.
