iPod Recently played on iPod not showing up in iTunes

Hi everyone,

When I play songs on my iPod it's suddenly not syncing when I connect and showing up under recently played in my iTunes. Plays counts aren't going up, played songs aren't syncing to iTunes.

Any ideas? Using the latest iPod classic, Windows 7, itunes 10

One thing different I have noticed is every time I hook up my iPod it says it's verifying it and that screen stays on for a bit. Never had that before.
