Recents photos backed up?

Do the recents photo folder automatically get backed up even though I haven’t got photos switch enabled for iCloud ?

I ask because , my photos switch is turned off for iCloud but it appears when I restore my device from iCloud my recents photos are also being restored , which confuses me. Cheers. Attached is my settings.

If you have enable the option in the settings and your storage is not full then it will automatically get store in iCloud.

Thanks for your response. That's the thing I don't have it enabled. Yet I've noticed my "recents" photos being backed up to icloud drive.

You can receive your photos from iCloud drive.

Sorry I don’t quite understand, I think it’s coming from iCloud Drive for sure when i setup a new device but unsure how it’s getting into the cloud since I don’t have photos iCloud turned on.

Noticed the below that is enabled on my device. What is this compared to the other photos icloud switches that are disabled ?
I think this is the reason and case closed.

All that is specifically related to backups. Sounds like photos were getting backed up and would get restored if you are restoring from a backup.

so that switch that is enabled for photo library backs up my recents photos? I believe I showed that it does. Really nice option that is , which is independent to iCloud photos library switch.
