All,

I hope this message is posted in the correct section, I debated on the proper location for a bit.

I've been struggling with poor reception on my last two iphones on Verizon. I had an iphone 7 that was plagued with poor reception, dropped calls, dodgy connection, slow data speeds, lack of LTE, etc., while others around me experience no issues. Multiple times a day I have missed calls that do not show on my phone, dropped calls, and times when the other caller cannot hear me (in and around the Seattle metropolitan area).

After working with Verizon tier 2 technical support (multiple times) and trying everything they could think of, I finally decided to replace my phone with an iphone X in hopes of solving the issue. It didn't work.

I'm experiencing the same issues on my new phone (after restoring both through itunes and from icloud), and no meaningful solutions are forthcoming from Verizon. Their last ditch solution for me is to do a factory reset on my phone and start over, hopefully resolving the issue. While I'm okay with attempting this solution, I have reservations about simply starting over with my phone.

Is there a way to do a factory reset and selectively restore only my applications and app data without also restoring anything to iOS that could potentially recreate the reception issues? I'm fairly savvy with iOS, but I'm not a fan of itunes and use it sparingly.

Thanks for any suggestions in advance.

do a backup before you reset. if the problem isnt resolved upon the reset, you can restore from the backup.
