Recessed ports when viewed from the back

Is anyone else somewhat disturbed by how much of the dock connector and the headphone jack are visible from the back of the iPad 2? It seems very inelegant and un-Apple.

Really, that just sounds like you are looking for something to complain about. I don't know about you, but I look at my iPad's front not the back.

It makes me worry about how long the dock connector will last, since it has limited surface to grip the cable. Also, what happens if there's a sudden jerk on the audio cord? Could the jack bend or damage the port? This design choice just seems so unnecessary.

Because Pretty much every iTouch and iPhone before the 4 are having port issues
