Okay, it's not fully loaded, but I think it's pretty decent (see sig).

I am not really much of a gamer, but I feel like I should try a game purely because of my system.

I'm willing to pay, provided it's not outrageous. Online would be cool, but isn't necessary.

I don't like first person shooters. Adventure/role playing maybe? I like historical stuff and I love vampires. Magic is fun too.

I have no idea at all what the best games are that will fully take advantage of my system, so please give me some suggestions. :)

Harry Potter was announced at the keynote, so you should get that soon enough. However games might run even better once Leopard ships, judging by this thread.

oblivion is an rpg and pretty taxing. You need bootcamp though.

Get STALKER. It's more detailed than Oblivion and is set in an area that's based on real world events with a huge pinch of salt. The result is a graphically rich, post apocalyptic world!

I didn't think S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was all that great, didn't get hooked in it at all.

On first play, I thought it was so-so too. On a second play however I really noticed the story and all the little details. And to show off graphics, STALKER is a good purchase.

FEAR extraction with everything maxed out ;) inc softshadows :p will seriously R*** ur rig hehehe :) also get a better screens a 17" does your rig no justice :p get atleast a 21" :) :D

Thinking a little out of the box here -- Civilization IV maybe? It's not gonna bust your system or show off graphics or anything like that, but it is somewhat historical and a decent strategy game (plus I don't know anyone that can beat it on the hardest levels without cheats).

You might wanna try X3 Reunion.
It's a space trading/fighting/empire building game. It's one of those games where if you get into it, you get into it in a big way.
Just released in native OS X form, too!

Thanks for the suggestions! :)

Also, my display is awesome - I'd have to spend $4k to get something with as high a DPI. It's plenty large and the picture quality is amazing.

Max Payne 2 is a blast, short but can be found for under $10 new now. It's a third-person shooter though so you may not dig it. Lots of good mods for it, like making Max into Neo from the Matrix along with all his matrix-y powers.

Command and Conquer 3 is a lot of fun, brings back the good old days of strat games.

Sim City 4 is a lot of fun although a lot of people prefer Sim City 3000. I got addicted to it and was glued to my PC for about two weeks.

Company of Heroes is the way to go. You have your Historical WWII aspect, as well as one of the best RTS's out there. Gives you a new perspective on RTS games as well as WWII games. I highly recommend it.

Company of Heroes is an interesting game but the whole gameplay takes some adjusting to, it is very easy to get into however with very very useful gameplay mechanics (especially to how it deals with control groups, I wish I had THAT in CNC3).

Another amazing game is Command & Conquer 3, I love how it feels like the old command & conquer games of old, its really fun my only complaints are that while its easy to play some mechanics make it hard to control, control groups are hard to do and redo and sometimes finding units in the minimap is hell (especially a precious engineer or commando) hotkeys are also hard to use (come on you don't really expect me to be able to use ctrl+f8 while holding a mouse) but I guess it just takes some practice the game in itself is fun as hell.

So yeah, those are my 2 recommendations, CoH and C&C3, Heroes V is a good game but its a love it or hate it kind of game.

Where would you find it for so cheap?

Pretty nice rig there, fairnymph! Of course, it would be better with the 8800 GPU.

That's all, I just wanted to compliment you.
