Recommend a monitor

I currently have a LG 21.5 inch monitor but am after something equivalent to apples screen quality, preferably around 21 inch due to desk space.

Am starting to do photo editing and the pics look dull on my LG but alot nicer on my iPad an Samsung s6.

Can anyone recommend me something for about £200-£300 ?

The Electri-Clerk "Brazil" is a nice entry monitor, and when you flip down the standard Fresnel lens it's almost the same as 5K.

Please enjoy the joke - when I saw the post I was ready to help - but '21"' eliminated every monitor that I would have suggested.

Check the dimensions of modern monitors. Due to decreased bezel size you may be able to fit something larger than you think. Also at that size you will be limited in quality since most better monitors are sold in 24" sizes and above.

I just bought a couple of Dell U2415's for a co-worker and they are very nice. 16:10 1920x1200 IPS matte screens with virtually no bezel.

True, and also note that 16x10 monitors (e.g. 1920x1200) are significantly narrower (and higher) than a 16x9 (e.g. 1920x1080) monitor of the same diagonal measurement.
 
OK what's the recommendations for 24 to 27. Must be good screen quality and affordable.
 
Dell P2415Q has a very good 4K IPS panel, the design is a bit dull but clean. I really enjoy the bigger sibling P2715Q and would recommend these to anyone
 
The Dell 2415 seems to get mentioned abit but there seems to be some variations of it.

I won't be doing any gaming or watching movies. I will be connecting a macbook pro via hdmi and doing photo editing using lightroom. Not sure if I really need a 4k for that.

LOL, you made a left turn into the MP forum. ;)

What size and year MBP do you have?
 
The Dell 4k monitors are excellent but way more expensive than you indicated you wanted to spend (I have a p2715q at my desk). You also would only get a maximum of 30hz refresh over the HDMI cable.

If I were buying non-4k monitors today I would get those Dells I listed above. They are very very nice for the price.

I'll second the Dell P2415Q. Amazing monitor.
 
€450,-: Dell P2415Q, 24" 4K (@ 60Hz with your MBPr 13" 2015)
€325,-: Dell U2515H, 25" 1440P
€260,-: Dell P2416D, 24" 1440P

All are IPS panels with great color accuracy (since you are into photo editing). Personally I think of pixels as; the more, the better! So, 4K, really need: no, but you will enjoy it most probably. You cannot go wrong really with any of these monitors and there is a model available at most pricepoints

At this point I've bought about 30 of the P2715Q - for Macbooks, Windows workstations and Linux workstations. (I love getting a pallet of monitors ;) ). (I even bought a pair of P2715Q on my own dime for my home Dell Precision system - and my husband has another one on his Dell Precision.)

No DOA. One infant mortality (died after a couple of weeks) - which was replaced by Dell on next day air.

If you can fit the P2715Q into your workspace - go for it. If you can't fit a 27", the 24" P2415Q should be nice.
