recommend a UPS for a mac mini server

i just sprung for a new mac mini server today and need a recommendation of a UPS for my new home network system:
-mac mini server 85 watts
-drobo-fs nas 5 bay drive 56 watts
-buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH broadband router with dd-wrt firmware 12watts

low power requirements but;
if a power outage i would like to have the mini server goto sleep in good order and wake up after power is restored. communicate via USB. i read the APC PowerChute software is problematic with OSX server.

I've had good luck with CyberPower units.

The ones with AVR (automatic voltage regulation) are to be preferred, and true sinewave is desirable too.

Can't speak to the auto-shutdown desire, though. I just run mine as if they were a glorified multiple-outlet strip. Computer, cable modem, VOIP ATA, router.

Problematic in what way? I plug my USB cable from my APC UPS into my mini, it's immediately recognized in System Preferences/Energy Saver. I configure it to my liking and I'm done. No software install, no problems.

Never have used one in 10 years of having home servers.
Buy a 120 buck FW drive and set up either Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner. You have to back up anyway.

APC UPS units work with the native OS X support for UPS devices.

The earlier poster did not state that the APC UPS hardware is problematic. The poster stated that the APC PowerChute software is problematic.

The APC PowerChute software provides additional useful functionality such as SMTP/email alerting, logging of UPS events, and the ability to perform a software triggered power failure test[*]. Unfortunately APC has not updated the PowerChute software since 2006. The most recent version available is v1.3.4 which does not support OS X 10.5 or 10.6.


[*] Triggering a power test while leaving the UPS connected to the wall is important because unplugging a UPS also disconnects the ground connection. Operating grounded devices without a ground connection can be risky both to people and the electronics.
