Hi all,

I am looking to get some opinions/recommendations on books about Apple. I already own Cult of Mac, iCon Steve Jobs, and iWoz. I love reading the history of the company and seeing the photos of its progress through time.

I have been looking to get a copy of Apple Confidential 2.0 as that looks like a greatly written book on the history of Apple from the beginning to 2004. Sadly, it's 4 years old now, but I still think it would be worth the purchase.

Are there any other books you can recommend similar that might cover up to the current time period? Something with a fairly detailed stories from the early days to each new and big advancement such as the iPod, OS X and the iPhone?

I appreciate any links you can give me!

Well, I went ahead and ordered Apple Confidential 2.0 and Inside Steve's Brain. I searched out the OS X Bible, but it ends right at the start of OS X and the iPod.

I would love to find a book that covers all the way up to the iPhone but all the books I can find end around 2005.

If you get tired of reading, check out the DVD Welcome to Macintosh. It's from last year, so it does cover the iPhone. There's also mention of Mac community sites, with Mac Rumors getting a shout out. Lots of great interviews.

While you're at it, try to find the 1996 3-part PBS documentary Triumph of the Nerds: The Rise of Accidental Empires and the 1999 made for TV movie Pirates of Silicon Valley. Triumph is about the rise of the PC and has a lot of great interviews with Jobs, himself, and Pirates is a great history lesson/drama about a notorious hippie vs. a diabolical nerd.

Thanks for the additional replies. I have seen Pirates of Silicon Valley and really enjoyed it, I'll have to check out the others as well.
