I'm looking to buy the following, was wondering if you good people could recommend me what to buy:

1)External hard drive enclosure or external hard drive (would like firewire to boot off of it, as well as not having need to connect to external power)

2)USB 2.0 HUB (not externaly powered)

3)Firewire hub (not externally powered)

Any comments / recommendations greatly appreciated!

What do you mean by "not externally powered"? Do you mean they should or shouldn't have their own power supplies?

And you would need a 2.5" hard drive on firewire to avoid it needing it's own poer cable.

However, remember unpowered hubs limit what can be plugged into them.

One suggedtion that might get waht you want in a single case and use a single power supply (so the hubs are powered) is the miniStack.

Most 2.5" enclosures use dual usb. One port is for data and power and the other is for extra power.
