Hello everyone,

I know there is a wiki thread about pcie adapters and m2 ssds, but what’s the latest recommendation for a normal sata SSD for the boot drive? I just need something that is at least 1 TB.

The only one I’ve heard to avoid is the 860 QVO.

Thanks!

Samsung 860 EVO or 860 PRO are both very solid.

Samsung 860 EVO is excellent on cMP 5,1 and is selling for $99 1TB on Amazon. The problem with the 860 QVO is that writes become extremely SLOW once the size of the write cache is exceeded so that copying of large files is very, very slow.
