I am attempting to find a just for fun (i.e., no real money) classic slots game. When I say classic, I mean completely simple and traditional: pick your machine, pull the lever or press the button, and see if you win.

In this case, beyond working offline, the game must be compatible with iOS 9 on iPad.

Backstory: I am considering donating my iPad 2 to my elderly mother because the original iPad (i.e., first generation) my brother gifted to her a long while back finally gave up the ghost. The offline requirement is because I don’t want to contend with Internet connection struggles/issues on the iPad plus the possibility of her accidentally tapping an ad — heck, I have troubles finding and tapping those “x”s. In other words, preventing/reducing troubleshooting.

A few games that come to mind and support iOS9 and are pay once (without ads, in-app purchases) or even free:

- iFruitBomb (0.99 dollar) - iOS6 or later, not sure if it works offline
- iFruitBomb 5 (0.99 dollar) - iOS7 or later, not sure if it works offline
- Vegas Slots (free) - iOS9.3 or later, no ads, works offline

There is also Frukakia 2 (4k) but that is only available as of iOS11.

I know its old but i like to play offline slots for fun in my free time called Lucky Slots – Free Vegas Casino Slot Machines. It's ad-free and perfect for iPad 2.
