I would love to hear your suggestions for a new replacement for my mbpr 2012. it has served me really well. The most demanding work it does for me is use for Trading software. I normally open 2 and thats very near it's limit to do more, as things do get slow. Other than that l may learn to use imovie, but my current mbpr can easily handle just that l am sure. For my trading, it just needs more RAM and a high resolution screen, min what l have now 1920x1600? glad to hear theres a 32GB limit. Are there any news coming up of new Mac laptops coming this year? recommendations for current Mac laptops? even windows, but much keener on Macs. l am lucky to have a flexible budget. what would you recommend?

Do you need 32GB? If you're just using trading software, I'm not so sure.
2019 13" MBP, 16GB RAM and two external displays.
Unless you really need the GPU of a 15" (which I doubt)
If you don't need too much disk-space, it's only expensive, not ludicrous, over-the-top expensive....
Not sure how and when Apple is redesigning their laptops. The current design (2016) is a redesign, intended for Intel's 10 and 7 nm chips that are only now beginning to materialize.
I'm sure internally, they have a few choice words for this situation.
OTOH, the "situation" with the keyboard is almost entirely on them.
The old Steve Jobs would probably have publicly humiliated somebody for that, mobile.me-style.

The 2019 13" MBP, 16GB RAM sound great, the screen resolution is highest for the 15" right? l like it high so l can fit more onto the screen, currently using just the mbpr 15" screen is fine. l have 3 desktops set up, but only need 2. l could connect to my samsung tv which has HDMI which fits the HDMI port on my mbpr. if l was going to do that on a 2019 MBP l would need an adapter? and if connect 2 external displays, l would be using up 2 of the USB C ports?
l am most definitely not a techie, as l said l use it for my trading software, which l am sure will benefit, if there was at least double current 8GB RAM. things do slow right down when l have 2 softwares open. other than that browsing net, using libre office, nothing that a 4GB RAM computer couldn't handle. thing is would 16GB ram actually be 2x smoother or faster? and my 2012 mbpr processor speed higher than the newest 13" mbp?

In all aspects (CPU, GPU, storage).
I use an App called "MacTracker" to do these kinds of comparisons. The app doesn't have the latest 2019 models included, but it doesn't take too long for that.
The 2018 and 2019 models only have Thunderbolt 3.

for 'work', l use the mac for trading and current MBPR, with 3 softwares open, make it near unuseable. so could only guess 16GB RAM make it just about useable. Would Apple shop let me try before purchasing? I would have to download the softwares. 32GB should make it a breeze, probably like my current mbpr with 1 software open, runs smoothly with no waiting time when switching from one window to another. Screen resolution needs to be high. 1900 x 1200 is what l get in the 'Display' panel and selecting 'More space' . l would prefer it a bit higher. just read https://lerks.blog/how-to-get-full-native-resolution-on-a-macbook-pro-with-retina/ would this be workable with even a 13" macpro? l have './scrutil s 2880 1800 32' typed in my terminal but not going to press enter as l am afraid it gets so small l cant see, but according to the website it reverts after few seconds. opinions?
