Recommendations for PAYG sim for my Australia visit

Got my O2 iPhone unlocked yesterday just in time for my trip to Australia over Xmas and New Year.

I will be looking to get a PAYG sim card whilst i am there, mainly for data usage.

Any Australians recommend a network and PAYG plan, or anyone that has done the same on an Australia visit.

the fastest network with the best coverage over here is Telstra Bigpond, but they are stupidly expensive.

I am with Virgin mobile, who use the next biggest network, Optus. AFAIK the pre-paid at Virgin is great for calls ('beancounter') but not for data.

You are probably best off with 3 mobile -
