Reconnect automatically to iTunes?

It is possible to set the Apple TV, or configure via script files, to automatically reconnect to the iTunes database (pending only one is configured) in the event connection is lost?

i.e. power cycle the Apple TV and you have to select the source again, or I restart iTunes and have to select the source again from the Apple TV


Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Reconnect automatically to iTunes

Sounds like a pretty complicated endeavor to me. Definitely over my head.

I would just be happy if my ATV would "Wake" up my iMac upstairs when I hit a button. I am too old, fat and lazy to keep climbing stairs to hit a spacebar to be able to stream. Hopefully Apple will get around to enabling a "Wake on LAN" function with their next ATV update.

This wouldn't automate the reconnection to iTunes for you, but at least it would allow for it manually.
