Hello. I used to post here a while back but I lost my old account. Anyways...

I recently purchased a used PowerBook G4 off craigslist when my iBook G4's logic board died. It turns out that the hard drive in the Powerbook was bad, most likely because the previous owner dropped it. I have bought a new hard drive and gone through the install myself.

Here is my problem:

When I disconnected the power connector when opening up the laptop, the connector did not come off; but instead the wire came out. This of course means my power button does not function. The wire are not broken, but they need to go back into the connector. Does anyone have any tips for reconnecting the wires? I was thinking a small pair of pliers and taking my time. Does anyone know which way the hooks at the ends of the wires face?

Thank you in advance!

p.s. There is no warranty so there's no need to worry about voiding that!

You will have to open the connector, which I assume means ruining its shell. You can't blindly insert electrical wires into the connector and hope it will work.
