I know when this subject comes up people state it's illegal, but why? When I call up a utility or basically any corporate I get a preface that states the call my be recorded for "training". It seems fine for corporations to do it, but should an individual need want to do it, we are restricted by not having lawyers giving us a loophole.

If there was one update or app that I could use to record my phone calls so I could create accurate notes after the fact that would be it. I am wondering if there may be an app or a work around with voice memos so I could record my phone conversations?

Any insights or advice would be very appreciated.

p.s. I did do a search and got countless posts relating to Siri recording, Epstein calls, etc..

Recording a phone call in most states is not illegal, provided you inform the other party that the call will be recorded and give the person (s) time to consent. Many states also require that an audible beep be played signifying the start and finish of the recording process.

It is best to check your state code, as well as the state code of the intended parties. Failing to do so could leave you open for criminal and civil suits.
