I had to put my iPad in recovery mode to fix a freeze it would go into, but, i was not aware that after putting it to recovery mode i would loose all my photos etc. that i had on the ipad. Now is there a way to recover those files and save them from loss?

I never backed up! Where should i back up? In the cloud?

is there some other place for backup, other than the iCloud?

You can backup to the local system by using iTunes.
Is there some tutorial on how to do this?

What will i do with the files that ive lost now? Any chance of retrieving them?

There is nothing you can do with the files you've lost. No backup = gone.

It amazes me that there are still people out there that don't backup or even some I've seen say they refuse to backup.

Threads like this is a prime example why EVERYONE should be doing iCloud or iTunes backups. Doing both is the safest option.

You are absolutely right lagwagon, but sometimes we all learn the hard way.
Regarding the retrieval of the files, are you certain that there is no way???

how could you retrieve files that aren't saved anywhere? do you know magic?

I always backup to my hard drive via itunes once a week. Super easy, just about a 2 click operation or something. I dont use the cloud from Apple personally.

As for your missing files? They're treated slightly different on a device than a pc.
