Hello,
I used pwnage tool 3.1.4 to jailbreak my 3gs. I have been having problems with my 3gs, it is very unresponsive. It won't respond to my finger, and it happens a lot. I will open safari and I won't be able to scroll with my finger. Usually I will let my iPhone go to sleep, sometimes when I wake it up it will be ok, but sometimes not. I just got this phone because my previous 3gs sometimes when I would make a call people couldn't hear me. I used pwnage tool to jb and I had problems when I initially jb, I got a 1600 error, I was eventually able to jb. My question has to do with recovery mode. Like one thing that concerns me is my phone was in recovery mode, it had the iTunes logo on my phone. I ran pwnage tool with the phone in recovery mode. One question I have is when the iPhone is in recovery mode do you have to restore? I think part of my problem was my iPhone was already in recovery mode when I ran pwnage tool? Could this have skrewed up my iPhone? I am going to restore, but just had questions about recovery mode, I think it is possible that my problems have nothing to do with jb, but wondered about recovery mode?

When a phone is in recovery mode, you do not have to restore it to get it back to normal. Just hold both the home and sleep/wake buttons until the phone turns off. Then turn it back on.

Your screen problem sounds like a hardware issue.

Just restored my 3gs iPhone to apple's 3.1.2 firmware. And so far my phone is acting alot better. I am in the process of testing it out, but so far as far as the response of my fingers to the screen no issues. If the problems go away, I am going to jb again. Just wondering, I guess I should start fresh i.e. redownload the 3.1.2 firmware and use pwnage tool to create a fresh pwned firmware. I did run in to a 1604 error the first time I attempted the jb. I redid my pwnage custom firmware and was eventually able to jb. I am wondering, if my problems go away what caused them in the first place, like I downloaded sbsettings and cydia said reload springboard and then I got a pinwheel spinning nonstop and couldn't even turn my phone off. I don't know what could have caused my problems, could it be something I installed or how something installed from cydia that caused my problems?
