Hi all. Isn't Red Alert 3 meant to be coming out in a Mac version? Whatever happened to that idea?
Really? I thought all that was out was an unofficial Cider porting?
I was wondering about this too. Whats cider porting?
Some guy made an unofficial port of the game, updated to 1.06 that even works online perfectly... I Guess it's better than waiting for EA port !
Really? Where?
From my discussions with EA support about no Kane's Wrath Mac release it's my impression that they have no intention of releasing Kane's Wrath or RA3 for the Macintosh. It appears that
a. They are not willing to devote the resources necessary to even support their cider builds.
b. Sales were not high enough for them to justify future in house Mac support. It's my impression this sold well but well for a Mac game and well for EA are two different things I think.

what is a cider port though? can someone explain how this works?
how do you play RA3 on a Mac?
in layman's terms
A cider ports is where a game is packaged into a windows emulator (based on Wine)
What this essentially does is makes games run in Mac or linux and it thinks it is running in windows.
The advantage is that you can "play" on a mac
The disadvantage is that it never runs as good as it would if it were running as a universal binary compiled natively for a mac.
