Red Eye reduction in photoshop

im so new to photo shop, ive got the trial version,
i went out last night with some friends , and took some fotos, and got loads of red eye, i forgot to turn on the red eye feature on my digicam, anyway,i looked at the help in photoshop,, but it doesnt tell you where the red eye reduction feautre is, and i cant find it, ive spent bout an hour going thru the menus, and ive searched this forum for red eye , and either im missing it, or im so thick tonite, lol,,
Please help,,, theres one foto that I want to get printed and framed for my friend as she's off to san fran for 6 months, and its her and her best mate,
 
Couldn't you use iPhoto? But since you did as for Photoshop help, here goes. I usually just use the Stamp tool to sample an area just outside the red eye and color in the red very carefully while I'm zoomed into the eye with the sampled color of the part of the eye.

Other's may have different ways, but that's the way I do it. Hope that makes sense.
 
I think that the red eye fixer only is available in Photoshop Elements. In the regular Photoshop you have to zoom in, use ellipse tool to mark just the pupil (NOT the iris) and then just remove the color (use the Image -> Adjustments -> Hue/Saturation (cmd-U) and set saturation to -100).
 
pick a dark neutral colour (grey/black)
use a soft edge brush in colour mode
paint over the affected area

useful tool for colourising B&W photos and other effects too!
 
I'm not at my mac right now but I think in photoshop CS2 the red eye tool is a pull out option in one of the tools (rubber stamp I think) but I know that it is in the tools palette.
 
As a Graphics professional working in commercial printing and the movie industry for over 30 years I have had a little time to figure out red eye reduction.
I have been using Photoshop for over 15 years (since v 2.1)and have never seen a "Red eye" filter in the software. The method I use is to make a slelction of the problem area, then select Image>Adjustments>Replace Color. Sample an average color in the red eye then move the sliders in the Hue, Saturation, and Lightness until a satisfactory "eye color" is achieved. If the results look a little to harsh, use the "Gaussian Blur" with a setting of about 1.7 to 2.3 to smooth it out.

This is a great thread... it took me about 30 seconds to fis a picture using the Unsaturate command. Thanks, guys.
 
red eye photoshop

This must be new to Photoshop CS2 - but go to the button that has the healing brush, the patch tool, etc. and at the bottom is the Red Eye tool. Just click on the center of the eye and it fixes it up really good. A lot better than the other Red Eye tools I've used.:cool:
 
Not sure what version of photoshop you are using but there certainly is a red eye tool in CS3. Depending on the picture, this is probably not the way I would choose to do it, should be fine though.

Like the post above me says (beat me to it ;)), it is under all of the healing brushes. Select it, click on the red eye, does a VERY decent job at removing it. In some cases you may want to do in with hue/saturation and add a bit more colour if it desaturates it TOO much.
