The red ipod nano is now on the front page of apple.com but no red ipod on the store.. and comes in 4gb

edit: the front page takes you to the ipod + itunes page where you can click buy now, but still not on the store itself.
Update: The Red iPod is on the store and ready to buy!
 
I found it out first ^^ I didn't see it coming until i saw the post in news about bono and oprah so.. yeah xD
 
There's nothing on the UK site. Does this mean that I can't be a 'do-gooder' and buy a Christmas present at the same time?
 
GREAT! Just as I fell in love with the green and opted to buy one next weekend, there is the damn red one! Now I cannot decide!
 
Is this really all that exciting?

I dont really get it.

opt for the red if you're indifferent between the two - you'll be doing some good! :)

You're trolling, right? Or did you mean if zune is all MS has, they are going to fail?

My favorite Zune model is the tiny flash based version for $149. I forget, does that one come in brown?
 
When would this red nano be expected to hit stores? It still isn't buyable off Apple Irelands site, even though there is a Buy Now button.

Of course, there is absolutely no indication that releasing a red nano means they won't be releasing a newer iPod sometime in the future. I'm pretty sure that they can walk and chew gum at the same time :rolleyes: .

Luckily you have a wide range of other colors to choose from. Why get so worked up about it? I'll be buying a red one for my next iPod.

You're on crack. Of course apple is going to release ipod updates down the road. But even if apple doesn't have an iPod update before christmas, Zune poses little threat.

The vast majority of iPod sales are nanos and shuffles. There is no zune in that size/price range, no flash based model. So even if the zune killed the ipod 30's and 80's (which ain't gonna happen), they'd still only have a small fraction of the media player market.

Nice attempt at a troll, though.
 
In my opinion donating $10 isnt enough. The ipod costs like $199 plus whatever taxes. Apple should at least donate 10% not $10. Well just my two cents. It seems like Apple is getting greedy.

Donating money to charity is GREEDY?

Yeah, thats a silly thing to say. Apple didn't have to make a red one, they don't have to donate any money to charity... but they are. If its $1, $10 or $100 I say well done Apple. Anyway, Charity annoys me, Charity begins at home and as for the UK we have problems on our own little island to sort out before we go curing AIDs and world poverty. :mad:

Better something rather than nothing...get pissed at all the companies that aren't incorporated in project red...
