Hi, I just bought my new Mac Pro today.

But unfortunately after my electricity down suddenly, and then re-up (electricity restored)

There's red light coming from inside of my macpro.

And then I opened my macpro casing, to look what lamp is it, and then I saw 10 RED LIGHTS total !!

4 from memory card riser a
4 from memory card riser b
2 from motherboard

Has anyone encountering the same case with mine?

And/or anyone got any idea?

Thank you.

Not cool!!

I would consult Apple with this. As you've just got your Mac Pro, you have 90 day phone support. Give AppleCare a call.

If it's only happening after a power outage I wouldn't worry. If the power supply is unstable in your area it might be worth investing in a UPS. Still worth calling apple

Would it be possible for you to post which of the diagnostic LEDs are lighting up. If you number them from left to right, it would be 2, 3, 4, or 5.

Thanks

Buy A Battery Backup!!!

If you are going to spend a cpuple grand on your computer , why would you put it all at risc over a surge. Surges can indeed fry many thing in a computer. Also as suggested call apple support asap.
Right after you shut it down & Go out & buy that battery backup!!!!

On the logic board there are 8 diagnostic LEDs that can light up. Since each of them have a different meaning, it would be helpful to know which 2 of the 8 are lighting up.

With the lights on the risers, it is normal for them to flash on startup and shut down, also when it goes in and out of sleep mode. If it is constantly on that would indicate that the computer has found something wrong with the stick of RAM in the corresponding slot. So unless you have RAM in every slot and the lights are constantly on, there is probably nothing to worry about

In servers those lights also mean that there was some sort of ECC error (ie information in the ram was corrupt). It is kinda cool watching all the lights flash and such on servers. I imagine something similar happens in the MacPros since they are using server grade logicboards.
