Red Sn0w + Snow Leopard = no go?

I updated to 3.1 (pwnage tool) but the carrier was failing (AT&T no service) so I reverted back to 3.0.1. i'm trying to use redsn0w but after i get it in DFU mode, i can't get it to work. it just stays at "waiting for reboot"

anyone getting this problem

Unplug it for 2 seconds and then plug it back in.

Very common known problem with new redsn0w.
