Good evening folks,
I'm new here but have been reading these forums for more than a couple years as this place comes up number one on Google searches. That being said here it goes:
I bounce between Linux and OS X and after 18 months I'm bouncing back. I have a new to me 4,1 on the way with a GT 120. I know from experience that it won't run draw my 30" ACD in an acceptable manner even though my FX1800 will (stange). From what I'm reading there seems to be issues on the green team right now but not much is being said about the red team. The new Mac Pro falls on the red side but iMac falls on the green side.
I don't need CUDA unless I'm working in Blender which has gone from all the time to every once in a great while. The stuff I do doesn't *require* a MP and I get along just fine with my current Arch/E3 1265L/K2000/16GB does just fine. Really I'm moving back so I can telework and I live in OS X at work rather than any real need.
If you were to buy a card today which would you choose Red or Green?
