Hello all. There has been a design decision taken with Safari 17 that I personally don't like and don't understand. I was wondering what others think. I would also be happy to hear you thoughts on why you think the redesign happened.

Essentially, the problem is that seeing the details for a given website requires an extra click to display the modal with details.

Someone reused the System Settings Passwords panel and called it a day.

Ugh!

Have they done the same with the Passwords app?
What Passwords app? There is not a formal Passwords application on macOS, iOS, or iPadOS — on macOS, passwords live in Safari.app > Settings > Passwords, as well as System Settings.app > Passwords.
