I'm very pleased to see this and hope that Apple and Unicode take this seriously. Surely, Unicode is supposed to be representative of all the world's people, races, and cultures - so it's genuinely discriminatory to disenfranchise a significant portion of the population. As many as 3 million people in the USA alone are Red-headed!
