Hi Guys,
Has anyone had any luck using the Redpark serial cable SDK in recent times?
I have the lighting to 30 pin adapter, and the 30 pin cable with iPhone 5.

Their Get Console App works ok, but the demo serial program always says
the serial cable is not connected.
It looks the demos have not been updated for some time. A few depreciated calls,
and still looks formatted for iPhone 4.
Cheers, Art.

I put my Redpark cable in the e-waste box long ago.

The way to get to RS-232 equipment these days (unless you need high data rates) seems to be to use a Bluetooth LE/4.0 Arduino (BLEduino, RFduino, LightBlue Bean, et.al.), and go through the Arduino TTL serial port or a higher-voltage shield. The iOS BTLE SDKs are mostly open source, so you aren't stuck depending on a binary library.

That seems a shame, the cable is reliable enough for me when I use it with Get Console App,
but of course that’s only a terminal emulation with scripting, so you can’t just go
connect it to a decent GPS for direction finder, or ZModem file Xfer, or the like.
