my question is how to repeat this on the mac? How do I correct the ICC profile?

I have - i1 Pro, DisplayCAL and baslCColor 5.7

Yes
System Prefs-Displays-Calibrate. Hold down the Option key while clicking on Calibrate.
That'll get you into "Expert" mode.
